What is the best way to learn how to ride rails? (snowboarding)?

Its my first year of snowboarding, i can ride boxes, jumps etc. fairly mediocre, and whever i try to ride a rail i fall on my ass. whenever i get up on a ride-on rail i fall halfway. is ther any technique I have to start doing or is it just practice over and over again?

speed is important, but commitment is the most important. bend your knees stay centered and don’t think about bailing. get the speed to do the whole rail at a solid speed. remember usually on a metal rail u will lose speed plus ur riding up the ride on so ur losing more speed so compensate for that. if ur falling around the same time ever time i would guess its due to a lack of speed or your psyching yourself out.

i’m not huge in the park but my friends taught me how to do some solid rails a while ago
its basically a lot of practice, it will eventually click and you’ll have them pretty decent. but whether you know the techniques or not, it will still take practice to keep them.
you cant tense up or over think the rail or you’ll get nervous. you need to have a steady speed when you approach the rail, don’t have a speed you cant handle. once you land on the rail, focus on something ahead of you, don’t be looking around or you’ll probably fall.
if you end up tipping to the side, don’t hesitate to get off or you’ll end up just falling off. to get off just smoothly lean to the side and make sure you know what direction to have your board lean too
but if you make it to the end of the rail, land it like you’d land a jump, legs a little bent and keep your tip up a little so you dont fall forward. and keep focusing on one object too

thats all i know really, hope it helps!
