Snowboarding tricks…?
I am getting into snowboarding tricks and I was wondering what tricks i should start to learn next. For the most part all I can do is 180’s sometimes 360’s grabs and stuff like that. Next year I want to learn a lot of tricks, is there any really fun tricks or good looking tricks that I should learn now? I want to get better at 360’s and learn to butter and stuff like that, anything else? Also since my season is over is there anything I can do to practice tricks away from the mountain?
O ya and all the snow is pretty much gone now
Since all the snow is gone you could buy a crappy snowboard from a local shop and tape the edges and use it on a trampoline, you could work on your spins and grabs. You could also wake board, this is what I do in the off season to progress, because there is water you can try a lot of tricks without high risk, but don’t get me wrong you still can get hurt.
For the next Winter when the Snow is back you can try this:
You could Progress your spins more, move up to 540’s. You could also improve style, every good rider knows that a trick doesn’t look good with out style. To improve your style, you can pre spin less on 360’s (if you pre spin) do not roll down the windows, you could also try riding switch and throwing huge floater 180’s.
Buttering is good as long as it looks steezy. Don’t do the gay butters where you spin around just to fall down. There is also nose/tail press butters, where you raise one end of the board and spin.
Jibbs – As you Progress venture into the terrain park and hit some jibs. Jibbing is riding anything that isn’t snow. At your local mountain, or near it you should be able to find a beginner terrain park that will have small Jumps, Boxes, and Rails. Start off with thick ride on boxes until you get your balance. Once you have that down you can do boardslides and butters on the boxes.

Get your 3’s down solid before you do anything else and make sure you do grabs with your 3’s (ie. melon, indy, stalefish). Then do some rails and try to move up to 5’s if you feel comfortable. Start skateboarding in the summer. It makes your board control a lot better and it helps your balance. If you have a trampoline then duct tape your edges and mess around on that. Have fun!

yea i agree with the others on this, get your 3’s down and the grabs with them. Also try some of the trickier grabs like a seat belt or even grabs through your legs like a roast beef or Canadian bacon. Also you should probably work on your rails and boxes, cause if your looking for style that looks great too.
below is a great wiki page on a list of tricks with a good pic on grabs.
