How can I start practicing tricks in snowboarding?

I picked up snowboarding last year and got pretty good, I have total control and balance over the board and everything, and I’m feeling confident enough to start learning tricks, or at least going of jumps. What’s the best way to train for something like that so I don’t kill myself??

Could start by strapping up at home, practice pressing on your tail and nose into an ollie or ollie 180,3’s. Then on the mountain practice the same thing on easy runs eventually moving onto natural small kickers and than man made kickers of bigger sizes.

There is really nothing you can do off the mountain to train for that. Unless you are a skateboarder but not all riders are, so forget that.

Your best bet is to try small jumps on the mountain. You could go to the smaller park at ur resort and try hitting the smaller jumps or just try to pop your board anywhere you see a bump on the runs.

This website shows a few moves that you can try out:

But lets face it, this is a website and trying this out foreal is completely different. Just have fun when you are up there and try go off of as many bumps and kickers that you can find. Just ride over a bump or kicker the first time to get a feel for it and then go a bit faster after that to get air. Just doing regular ollies will help you practice too. make sure you have wrist guards though, cause the last thing you want to do is break ur hand in the beginning of the season.

    Good luck.

You could go with me,, and i can show you and teach you .. [= haha jk

Yeah like the people above me said,, find little side jumps and such , even mongels , hit them when your riding , or bumps 9" of air will turn into 10 feet eventually you just need to try, dont be afraid and if you are do it any way, once you get the first couple of times out of the way you will get better.

Just like when you first learned to snowbaord, your gonna fall a couple of timse, but things can only get better [=
