Burton Women’s The Social Snowboard

Burton Women's The Social Snowboard

Ideal for women who know they want to master everything in the park including freestyle tricks, the all-new The Social from Burton is an exceptional freestyle twin for beginners. It also offers more performance-to-dollar features than a lot of competitor snowboards currently on the market. The Social features an affordable and proven Fly wood core, a strategic balance of lighter woods in specific areas for better response and denser woods where support is essential. Burton’s Pressure Distribution Edges with Rail Ready Tuning allow you to rail slide without hang-ups or dull edge hold on hardpack snow. Bi-directional layers in the Biax React fiberglass around the wood core give the board a little more flex than boards with Triax fiberglass, giving you a little more forgiveness when you need it. The Lightspeed Vision Base offers an incredibly smooth extruded base that can glide even without wax. The “Vision” in the name means that you’ll never have to worry about others looking at dull graphics when you explode off the rim of a halfpipe (obviously that move comes a little later for beginners). Unlike some entry-level or recreational snowboards, The Social has a negative core profile, not an even core profile that sometimes offers more stability to beginners. The negative core profile could lengthen the learning curve a tad for some riders, but the advantage is that new riders learn how to control the board through independent foot control sooner than riders who later transition (with added expense) to a negative core snowboard. Because most Burton boards feature a negative core profile, transitioning from The Social to a more advanced design doesn’t require much adaptation because you’re ahead of the learning curve.
