Where can an 18 year old live for cheap in the ski season (to learn to snowboard)?

I’m 18/female from England and a few months I’ll be free from the world of school. Basically I want to spend the whole ski season living and breathing snowboarding, I’m a beginner but I’ll get lessons until then. How shall I go about this? How can I live cheaply somewhere near a ski resort that would be right for me? Pref. somewhere in Europe for obvious language/paperwork reasons!

yup

If you can ski at the intermidate level; how fast could you learn how to snowboard?

One trip to the hill?
two?
Five?
Like till your able to snowboard on a black diamond?
To demenstrate my learning abilities:p
i was able to do a black diamond the second time i went skiing. It wasnt graceful, i fell and i was scared as fuck. but i did it. so loosly based on that i geuss.

Skiing and snowboarding are very different sports. I know people that are very high end skiers that can’t make a turn on a board to save their life.

As far as the black diamond goes, there is a HUGE difference between being able to ride it, or just barely surviving it. In order to ride a black diamond, it will most likely take a good portion of the season to build up the ability to do it.

Also keep in mind that the black diamond rating is relative to the rest of the terrain on the mountain. The rating is not the same everywhere. For example, here on the east coast, a black diamond in CT is going to be different than a simalarly rated trail in VT. That’s because the mountains in CT are relativly flat compared to VT.

Easier to learn to ski if you already know how to snowboard?

I’ve been snowboarding for about 8 years now and I’m interested in learning how to ski. Is it easier to learn skiing if you know How to Snowboard?

depends, in all honesty… snowboard is hard to learn but easy to master and skiing is easy to learn and hard to master. plus you have to get used to looking forward than looking over your shoulder.

Is it possible to learn to ski/snowboard to a sufficient standard?

in those indoor ski centres ( like xscape, milton keynes) not to require lessons when you actually go for real, or are those indoor slopes to small to learn all the needed techniques. Any ideas on how many lessons you would need.

well i work in Xscape in castleford and i work in the rentals and on the snowslopes and your required to have passed your level 1 to 4 snowboarding/skiing before your alloud on the main slopes then i think its on a thursday nite, you can go and they have a course were they teach you tricks, turns help you improve i think its really benifical learning to ski/board at an indoor slopes, it can be realy fustrating trying to learn on your own.

is it hard to learn to snowboard or dirt bike?

I just want to know because i would like to try them.

You just need patience and time to practice. Snowboarding would definately be more difficult than riding a dirt bike.

Is it hard to learn how to SNOWBOARD?

Hello
I’ve been skiing for last 4 years and i’m alright at it…i can ski on blue or green…lol but i rarely have accidents and i can go pretty fast.

But I wanna learn snowboarding this winter cause ski boots are way too heavy and i’m tired of skiing…

so…in opinion, would it be hard for me?

thanks

its hard to learn anything, it just takes a while to get adjusted. in your case you’re either gonna a) have an easier time cause you’ve been skiing beforehand or b) have a harder time cause you’ve been skiing beforehand. all it takes is practice
