Super lightweight yet amazingly rugged the Burton Wheelie Board Case is like Fort Knox for a quiver of decks. Get fully padded multiple board capacity super smooth IXION TM wheels and removable boot and binding bags (the bags also work great as laundry bags lunch bags bags for wet stuff day bags purses anything really) all at 6.5lbs (for the 166cm length). The Burton Cartel is about $100 more than the Burton Custom, but they seem very similar.
Is there a big difference between these two…and is the Cartel worth the extra money?

What about the Custom Mission binding? This seems in the middle of the 2 and a good choice.
I am an intermediate rider. I can go pretty fast and make good turns. Right now I don’t do that much in the park or jumps, but I will soon.
I know that bindings last a long time so I was hoping to get nice ones that will last me 2 boards or so. I’m just worried Cartels will be too responsive for an intermediate rider.
the short answer is yes and yes. The Custom is an awesome binding for its money, but that would depend on the riding level you are at. The custom has a polycarbonate baseplate binding that has some flex in it, this suits low intermediate or even freestyle riders (Shaun White has used them for as while now).
The Cartel has nylon reinforced baseplate and Team skyback, all in all a much more responsive binding with a more aggressive forward lean on the highback, making it a lot less forgiving.
My choice for an intermediate and above go for the Cartel, dedicated discs for both 3 hole(burton) and 4 hole(everyone else) boards, and just more comfortable straps, strap in and ride them and the extra $$ won’t mean a thing.

So for my History of Cinema class, I have to write a research paper on how German Expressionism has influenced Tim Burton’s films. I would just like to know some of the key points that I should include in my paper. And also, would it be okay to state that German Expressionism ‘branched’ into the horror genre? Tim Burton was greatly influenced by Universal 1930’s horror films. No BS answers, please.
I wrote a paper on German Expressionism for the film section of my local newspaper last year.. The main points you want to know are lighting, set, and acting. German Expressionist films tended to be dark (Robert Wiene’s "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligary", F.W. Murnau’s "Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde," "Faust," "The Last Laugh," "Sunrise," "Nosferatu", and Fritz Lang’s "Metropolis," and "Dr. Mabuse" series..) and the sets were pretty elaborate and bizzare.. Definitely the classic form of cinema, oppose to realism– which includes on location shooting, etc. The acting, self explanatory, very expressionistic because there was no sound yet in cinema (this was the 1920s and 30s), much like the films of Chaplin and Buster Keaton. Anyways– all these elements have somewhat influenced Tim Burton’s films.
As for "branching into horror," it’s a bit hard to say. Murnau seemed to be very much included supernatural elements into his films, and Nosferatu, Faust, Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde were all early horrors, but actually German Expressionism eventually branched into Film Noir (early Hollywood crime cinema) as some of the German directors– Fritz Lang, F.W. Murnau, etc. moved to America. Once again, many of these elements discussed you can find in Film Noir.
Hope that cleared some things up.

I’m planning to get maybe Relay E/Antidote bindings (Any ideas on which one to get?) and the F22W boots from Salomon, with the Burton Feather. I was just wondering if the bindings would fit with the board? And if say, size 7/8 boots with the Medium bindings?
My shoe size is about 8 and I really don’t have anywhere to go try on the boots or the bindings, so I’m kind of stuck on terms of knowing what size I need. I’m just starting out boarding and have only gone a couple times, but I’m getting a season pass up to one of the local mountains and planning on going lots later on.
Any additional info you need just ask. Thanks!
You should never buy snowboard boots without first trying them on. If you plan to buy them online then you should try them in a snowboard shop first. Having the boots fit properly is really important it’ll affect your riding and your feet will get tired and sore and you won’t have as much fun. So try to go to a snowboard shop and get someone to help you find a boot size that fits right.
With snowboards and bindings there isn’t usually any problems with fit/compatibility so you won’t have a problem there.
edit: oh yeh, i forgot about the base plates, the bit that attaches the binding to the board. Burton do have a different hole arrangement on the board, but some bindings do come with replacement base plates to fit Burton boards, just ask the shop person when buying the board/bindings.
With boots and bindings it is best to try them together to see if they fit properly (you’ll have to go to a shop for this aswell). However, most of the time this shouldn’t be an issue, just make sure you get the right sized bindings for your boots.
If you really can’t get to any snowboard shops off the mountain, you could wait till you go to the ski mountain and buy your entire setup there, that way you’ll have the correct sizes and get some professional advice on your gear. However, i highly recommend you go to a snowboard shop off mountain before your trip that way you can take your time to think about which gear you really want. Also board shops off mountain tend to be cheaper then ones on mountain.

I would like to know the value of Burton stock, as well as their 52 week highs and lows if this information is available. Does anyone know, or know where to find, this information?
Burton is not a publicly traded company.

I just recently got ahold of a fairly old Burton Balance snowboard. It is in very nice condition and has barely been ridden. Thanks if you know, thanks even if you don’t.
If you where wanting to sell it….idk I would probably ask around 100-150 bucks for it if its in really good condition. I have no idea what it retailed for when it came out, I would guess around 400-500. I think Burton stopped making the Balance around 5 years ago so it’s at least that old.

I just bought an 08 dominant, and it came with neon griptape. It said to cut out designs, put em on, and submit em to Burton, and the coolest one was the winner. I couldn’t find who won the contest, but really I just want to see some photos of ideas to do with the griptape, to make the board look better. Thanks, help is appreciated.
hey, i cant answer your question but i did want to write an answer just to let you know that someone actually read it. better luck next time and i hope your problem was resolved.
